I'm a retired elementary music teacher. I've been retired since 2010. I live in Nashville, Tennessee, with my husband of 45 years, Don. I am currently an independent instructional coach in our school district, working with music teachers. We have one daughter, one son-in-law, and two grandchildren. All of whom live across the street! It just doesn't get any better than that!

I'm a retired middle school band director. I worked in corporate industry for 30 years, retired and re-activated my teaching degree. I currently teach driver's ed.

Cousins' Camp

Summer camp with our grands is a highlight of the year . . . for everyone!

A few years ago, Don's brother, Dave, and his wife, Peggy, moved to Nashville from Chicago. After a year of living with her mom while building a house, they moved again. But this time to a beautiful home in the country not far from us.

The first time we visited, I was very inspired and asked them to think about something very crazy and outside the box!

What if we had a summer camp for our grandkids? At their house? Yes, overnight!

My mother, at 92, having fun with her two greats!

Let's have summer camp for the grands . . . at your house!

Sort of a mini Vacation Bible School but taught by grandparents! There are four Aston siblings—Dave, Don, Judy, and Dale. And between those four, there are eight children who, in 2013, had a total of 14 children—the Aston grands! And, because Dave and Peggy LOVED the idea, Cousins' Camp has been a reality for the past six years!!

Flash forward to 2019, we now have 17 grands and two young, recently married young couples with the potential for adding more to our group!

My posts for this blog will be backwards at first. Currently, I am planning Cousins' Camp for 2019, so I will just take you along as I plan. Actually, I began a couple of months ago.
